Teacher Resources

A growing collection of teaching resources for facilitators and educators.

You’ll find audio and video teaching libraries, practical guides and books, and free resources such as rhythm games and background material, developed through years of hands-on teaching experience.

Tools for teaching

A practical mix of audio, video, written, and free resources for teachers.

Video learning library

A dedicated resource centre for African drumming facilitation, designed to support teachers working with students of all ages.

Featuring a broad range of rhythms, alongside games, traditional songs, and musical exercises to support learning in practical, engaging ways. Content is clearly broken down to help you absorb material efficiently and apply it with confidence in your sessions.

The hub continues to grow, with new content added frequently. It was created in response to ongoing requests from teachers, and we’re always open to suggestions for future additions.

Audio learning library

A collection of rhythms, djembe backing tracks, and audio to support African drumming classes and practice. Designed for teachers and facilitators who want clear reference material to play along with, teach from, or use between sessions.

The recordings are commonly used to support group playing, demonstrate parts, and help students become familiar with rhythms outside of class time. They work alongside live teaching, giving both teachers and learners a reliable audio reference to return to.

New audio resources are added over time, and the library continues to grow based on how teachers use it in real sessions.

Books & Guides

This selection brings together printed and digital resources to support African drumming teaching and learning. It includes digital instructional packs and professional development booklets that provide structure, teaching toolkits, and guided learning pathways for educators.

These resources are designed to sit alongside practical drumming, offering support around rhythms, facilitation, and session planning. They’re used by teachers as preparation material, in-class reference, and ongoing professional learning.
