FAQs
What is an agave didgeridoo made from?
An agave didgeridoo like Cannon is built from the flowerstalk of blue agave, Agave tequilana, sourced locally within Victoria, rather than the eucalyptus used in most Australian-made instruments. It carries between a quarter and a half the weight of a comparable eucalyptus didgeridoo in the same key.
Is Cannon suited to beginners?
Cannon is a good instrument for players new to lower keys, since its contained nature needs only medium breath and lip control to access the drone.
Why is Cannon tuned to G#?
G# is a lower key than most beginner instruments, but Cannon’s shorter 177cm length and 80mm bell keep the drone contained rather than overwhelming. This makes it a practical way into lower keys, needing only medium breath and lip control rather than the deep lung capacity that the very lowest keys demand.
Do you have a smaller or more portable didgeridoo?
The Spiral Didgeridoo is curved and compact, easy to travel with and a good match if you’re still building circular breathing. It’s handmade from natural timber, so stepping up to Enigma’s agave build later feels like a natural progression rather than a different instrument altogether.
How do I clean and care for an agave didgeridoo?
Wipe the outside with warm, slightly soapy water and a microfibre cloth to remove oils and marks. Keep it out of direct, hot sunlight, and avoid alcohol-based cleaning products, which react with the shellac and resin varnish finish.
Who makes Dragon’s Blood Didgeridoo instruments?
Every Dragon’s Blood Didgeridoo, including Cannon, is shaped and finished by Daniel Lindsey on Gadubanud and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung country. Lindsey, who is not Aboriginal, builds with the blessing of an elder. In his own words, he pays his respects to elders past, present and emerging, and remains open to respectful dialogue and collaboration.
