About the Shells
Mini dunun are carved from durable and sustainable Indonesian red mahogany.
They are much smaller and lighter than full-sized dunun for portability and ease of play.
Mahogany is a lighter weight hardwood, with a reddish tint.
It makes for portable instruments while still boasting strong projection and range.

About the Hide
Cow skins give dunun their rich, powerful voice.
Over time they will mellow, adding lots of melody do the dunun’s sound.
Cow skin is typically a lot thicker than goat, offering rich melodic sounds.
We take care to find the best hide for the shell to maximise its dynamic range.
