A traditional maraca, these Pod shakers are made from Swawa tree gourds in the Northern regions of Ghana. When the gourds are dry they fall from the trees and are collected by children. Elders hollow and fill them with orange pebbles from the iron-rich soil of the Sahel
The pods are thick and durable. Produces beautiful sandy sounds
